Plastic has been a durable, affordable and versatile material since the 20th century.

It is important to note that most plastic materials take hundreds of years to break down, so all plastic currently in the Irish landfills still exists. Yet, we continue to produce and consume more plastic.

Plastic must go somewhere. It’s often dumped on the ground or in rivers in developing nations before it reaches the ocean where it can pose a threat to marine life.

We simply cannot cope with the increasing amount of plastic that is being produced on the planet. To ensure a sustainable and healthy future for the planet, we must change our attitudes and behaviors towards plastic.
